GAME REPORTS.....

Round 6 – Saturday 15th May 2010
PACIFIC PINES  5  v  3  NERANG RED
Player of the match:  Andre.
Goals:  Hunter 1, Flynn 1, Zachary 3.
From the Coach…..
The boys came out hard and scored two quick goals, but soon got complacent and let Nerang into the game with some very soft goals.  The second half picked up and it became a close battle.  With a late goal to Hunter and one to Zachary we clenched the deserved win.  All our boys played well, with Andre the first to every challenge and some good passing too.

Round 5 – Saturday 8th May 2010
MERRIMAC YELLOW  2  v  7  PACIFIC PINES
Player of the match:  Ryan
Goals:  Ryan 1,  Hunter 2,  Zachary 2,  Flynn 2.
From the Coach….
Best game of the year!!!  Fantastic game of football.  Merrimac had heaps of players and asked if we could play 5 a side, which we agreed too.  All the boys played well.  Merrimac were a good team and it was very competitive.  At half time it was 2 all.  Flynn was like a tank and charged through to get his goals.  Zachary scored a long range goal and Hunter took the ball all the way from defense to score.  Ryan played tough and scored a great goal too.  Ethan and Andre were strong in defense, saving goals and Andre set up 2 with crucial passes.  Great game to watch!!

Round 4 – Saturday 1st May 2010
Pacific Pines  2  v  6  Musgrave Red
Player of the match:  Ethan
Goals:  Zachary 2.
From the Coach….
Musgrave were a good team, but our boys were tired, slow and generally uninterested in the game, the boys failed to pass, tackle or work as a team.  Ethan showed some commitment at times.

Round 3 – Saturday 24th April 2010
Pacific Pines  5  v  5  Broadbeach Purple
Player of the match:  Hunter
Goals:  Hunter 1,  Zachary 3,  BU (Own goal) 1.
From the Coach….
Broadbeach United Purple were a great team and deserved to win and were unfortunate to score an own goal near the end.  It was 4-1 at half time, then Zachary turned it on in the second half!  Hunter played great.

Round 2 – Saturday 17th April 2010
Southport Blue  3  v  10  Pacific Pines 
Player of the match:  Flynn
Goals:  Ryan 1,  Flynn 1,  Hunter 2,  Ethan 2,  Zachary 4.
From the Coach……
The referee failed to take control of the game at any point and the play really suffered.  A very slow and sluggish start to the game saw the kid’s lose concentration.  Our team started to get it together just before half time and the goals started.  Flynn was active and chased the ball well.  He persisted in tackling the opposition in front of their goal and deservedly came away with a goal..

Round 1 Saturday 10th April 2010
Pacific Pines  10  v  1 Broadbeach Green
Player of the Match:  Zachary
Goals:  Andre 1, Hunter 1, Ryan 1,  Zachary 7.
From the Coach....
All the boys played great!  All chased the ball, tackled and had a good sense of direction.  Vocal with each other, more passing would be nice too.  Zachary was the clear standout scoring 7 goals!!
