What is SSG?
What is Optus Small Sided Football (SSG)?
They are football games designed especially for children, with fewer players competing on a smaller-sized field. Players have more contact with the ball because fewer players are playing in a smaller playing area. Optus Small Sided Football meets the development needs of younger football player whilst maintaining a strong focus on maximum participation & enjoyment.

2011 UPDATE ON OPTUS SMALL SIDED GAMES
All Clubs/CA’s are reminded that it is mandatory that U11’s in 2011 will play under Small Sided Football rules. This will complete the National rollout of Small Sided Football.
Football Federation Australia advise that updated resources for Optus Small Sided Football are now being distributed in preparation for season 2011. You will find the new ‘Parent Flyer’ is a combination of the existing flyer (minus some information) and both the Game Leader and Instructor Referee resources. The ‘new’ resource now becomes a 3-in-1 information tool for parents and coaches. There are limited supplies of the flyers so where possible, please refer members to the website – Coaching & Dev - Small Sided Football – Small Sided Football Rules and Guidelines for 2011.

PPFC SSG main focus is on skill development, dribbling and lots of little touches on the ball. There is no competition ladder. No wet-weather games will be rescheduled.
Please ensure your child has their boots, shin pads, a drink bottle and suitable training attire when they arrive at training. Coaches have been instructed to start their sessions on time, to make sure your child gets the full benefit of their training time please ensure they have the correct equipment and are ready to train on time.
Remember PPFC is not a child minding service, we are a community based sporting club. Remember that while all care is taken to ensure your child’s safety, coaches are not responsible to wait at the grounds until you arrive. At the conclusion of their session it is the parents responsibility to collect their child from the field.
