Football Queensland & Pacific Pines Football Club are pleased to provide the Football Squirts Program.
This is the only recognised and endorsed program for children under the age of 5 and therefore participants are covered by the state insurance program.
The Football Squirts program has been created to develop the football skills of 3 to 5 year olds.
The hope is that in acquiring basic skills, participating children will not only learn correct technique but will also develop a love of the “world game”.

This week's Report from the Coaches....
Week 7
A fun filled day today and lots of enthusiasm from every Squirt – fantastic effort!
This morning we saw that most of the kids are really getting to grips with the importance of keeping the ball close to their feet whilst running around various obstacles, showing improved concentration and balance. Passing the ball is something that may take a little longer for some of the kids to understand the benefits of but we’ll keep trying J
We had help from some parents this morning which was great and along with their ideas their input was much appreciated – should any parent / guardian wish to offer assistance especially in keeping the kids within the Square during drills and SSG’s your help would be most welcome – remember there are only three weeks left!

Week 6
Apologies for the availability of only one coach today as Matt was at home sick – none the less we had great fun with another fantastic turnout.
Today we again tried to ensure that everyone had adequate ball time with a variety of activities allowing the kids to have plenty of time with the ball at their feet participating in dribbling drills and SSG’s mixed with relay races etc, this seemed to go down well so we’ll try more of these again next week.

Week 5
Week 4
A fantastic day today, we had clear progress this week and in particular the under 3’s and under 4’s were able to follow the coaches instructions better than previous weeks which led to more time being available for the small sided games (SSG’s) toward the end of the sessions.
We prioritize as much time as possible trying to improve each child’s ball control and passing skills and soon hope to see these components being part of their natural game whilst playing SSG’s.
The coaches are always thankful for any constructive feedback at any time but we must insist that should any parent / guardian wish to chat to us during a training session PLEASE keep it brief as lengthy interruptions are not fair on anyone especially the kids. Preferably have a chat to us before or after sessions, alternatively feel free to call us later the same day we’d be more than happy to speak to you then.

WEEK 3 - Report from the Coaches....
Going by smiles on the kids faces, we felt that by and large they had another good day at Squirts. We tried some different activities with a focus on passing, dribbling and shooting which highlighted several strengths and weaknesses. The concentration span for some of the younger Squirts is very short which is to be expected and the coaches would appreciate assistance from parents should their child become tired and or disinterested, encouragement from the sidelines is a big help.
Overall there was improvement in most areas especially in the small games towards the end of the sessions. Thanks to all that attended and also for the constructive feedback received.

Week 2 Report from the Coaches...
Week two and another good turnout. The kids showed improvement in several areas including, ball control, short passing, dribbling and keeping within the square throughout the entire session - noticeably better than Week one and good to see. Plenty of fun was had by all.
The coaches would be grateful for any feedback which can be discussed prior to training or via e mail.

Week 1 Report From the Coaches...
We would like to say a big thank you to all those that came along this morning, it was a great turnout at today’s sessions.
The kids were all very well behaved and it was great to see them being so enthusiastic and having such fun.
Please remember it is important that the children wear shin guards for their protection against accidents and injury.
All players must have shin guards every week...no exceptions.
Looking forward to seeing you all again next week.
