From the Coach....
The girls battled well with a respectable 2 nil scoreline at half-time and still well in the game. Alas the combination of size and speed that enable Robina to dictate the play proved too much again producing the final scoreline. Despite this the girls playing some good football and if they can maintain this standard and momentum should easily account for the teams in our final three games and a shot at the finals.

From the Coach....
The best performance of the season with the girls playing with a lot more intensity against a bigger physical side. The defence was outstanding for most of the game working well to shut down Musgraves quick counter attacks. We showed a lot of fluidity at times with some great passing and movement up the field and were unfortunate to concede a goal. Everyone contributed in this match with Ellis putting in a huge performance both in defence and through midfield in attack. Hopefully we can maintain this energy and round out the season the way we did last year with a series of wins to secure a finals berth.

From the Coach...
Unfortunately off the pace this week and lacking the intensity of our previous match. The team was a goal down at half time and still in the match despite playing against a physically bigger and faster team. Alas the second half saw a flurry of goals due mainly to a lack of marking through the midfield and backs allowing the opposition to run at goal at will. Ball retention was another significant issue as we struggling to maintain possession for any length of time.

Only 10 players for this game but as is always the case when we are short of players, the girls stepped up a couple of gears for a tirless performance to ensure maximum points. Admittedly Banora are last on the ladder but it doesn’t take anything away from the effort put in by the girls with everyone contributing in equal measure. Top stuff.

Unfortunately I couldn’t attend this game but it was to all reports,although not the finest performance this season, enough to earn a precious away point.

From the Coach...
We went into the game with a more attacking format, 3-1-4-2, which became more of a 3-4-3 and was probably our undoing as the Southport mids piled forward on the counter. Nevertheless this was a spirited game with some great performances from Abigail, Kalena, Clowe and Nicole. Tenneille made great running down the left flank and Ellis worked hard through the mid-field. A lot of positives to be taken from this game which everyone seemed to enjoy. After a two week lay-off it was good to see Grady making an impact as our number one slide tackler. A bit more patience and build up required for the next game me thinks.

From the Coach....
A big improvement on the previous week with the back four much tighter in defence. Robina pressured most of the game showing greater speed and desire to win the ball, managing to score through some unfortunate slip ups. The win flattered them a little as they were not that skillful across the team but most importantly showed the hunger it takes to win.
Work needed on individual ball retention and an awareness to make quick passes to move the ball up the field is needed to overcome Robina in the return leg.

Where’d my team go? Plenty of individual effort but lacking in the cohesion displayed during the first 4 games of the season, meant the girls went down to a physical but less talented team. New signing Courtney had a good second half in goal and Abigail and Lexie made some great running but alas it was not enough

From the Coach...
A classy performance from the girls playing in a slightly different format that plays to our strengths better – 3-1-4-2 , which unleashes those deadly runs of Abigail. Nicole showed better composure in front of goal to pick up a tidy 5 with great support from the midfield. The defence worked with centre back Kirsten marshalling and covering well although we need to avoid racing into tackles and look to hold up the attackers better. Briony, Lexie, Clowe and Sinead put in powerhouse performances and were very effective when linking up on the wings.
The season looks very promising indeed!

From the Coach....
This was an excellent game from the girls who played with no subs against a team with 5 + subs (Dodgy behaviour indeed). The first half was all Pac Pines with some great structure keeping R. Bay on the back foot. Tessa was superb at the back, Kalena, Sinead and Briony working hard through the midfield. Great effort from Clowe too who was playing left back to cover for our missing defenders.
Unfortunately tired legs cost us the second half, but the effort was there to the final whistle. What more could a coach ask for?

From the Coach....
Underdogs going into the game it was always going to be difficult carving out a win against a side with some quality players. Despite that the girls acquitted themselves well and created plenty of opportunities. Christina was, as usual, awesome in goal and Sinead was tenacious in the midfield and came close to scoring. A superb goal from Tenneille on the break gave the result some respectability. Just a bit of improvement with that first touch of the ball and some sharper marking and the title is ours for the taking.

An excellent performance for the first game of the season. Newcomers Jayde, Grady and Lexie put in great performances and the centre backs Abigail and Kirsten were outstanding. The midfield marshalled by Ellis were solid and kept up some good ball service for Nicole in attack. Christina, as always, made the goal a veritable fortress.
